In the deep woods of the Ozark National Forest, alongside the Buffalo National River, six-year-old Haley Zega wandered astray while hiking with her grandparents in 2001. Missing for 52 harrowing hours, the search and rescue mission for Haley became the largest ever of its kind in the State of Arkansas. Safely rescued from a remote spot well outside of the organized search area by two local mule riders, the resulting story of endurance and tenacity captured the hearts of all who waited and prayed for a child who, for a moment in time, became everyone's little girl.
